The 9FF GT9 VMAX is a Porsche 911 GT3 (997)-based hypercar.
Description
The 9FF GT9 VMAX is an upgraded version of the 9FF GT9, loosely based on the Porsche 911 (Type 997) GT3. Created to beat the world record for the fastest production car, it was instead beaten by the SSC Ultimate Aero and every single one of the 9FF GT9 variants was sold at an auction. The 9FF GT9s were never tested either.
Improving from the GT9-R package, the 9FF GT9 VMAX delivers 1381 hp (1400 PS;1030 kW) and 855 ft·lb (1159 N·m) from a 4.2 liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. The VMAX can do 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, 0-124 mph in 6.8 seconds, and 0-186 mph in 13 seconds. The car reaches a top speed of 272 mph (437 km/h).
The 9FF GT9 VMAX extensively uses carbon fiber bodywork, polycarbonate windows, and lightweight wheels.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The 9FF GT9 VMAX was added to the game during the 2014 Winter Update. Originally ranking as a high-end vehicle in Class S, it is now a mid-tier car with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 1543
- MAX rank: 1686
- MAX+PRO rank: 1778
- Tuning Kit bonus: +32
The 9FF GT9 VMAX's rivals are the McLaren F1 XP-5, Lamborghini Egoista and Koenigsegg One:1, Mosler GT3, McLaren 675LT and Aston Martin One-77.
The 9FF GT9 VMAX has a cosmetic speed modifier of 88.60%.
The 9FF GT9 VMAX was the only Class S vehicle of the 2014 Winter Update and the first non-premium token-purchasable Class S vehicle in the game. Note: This vehicle is no longer available for purchase.
Performance
The 9FF GT9 VMAX, a very well-balanced vehicle, was the fastest vehicle in the game upon its debut and served as the "King" of Class S until the Decals Update, which introduced the even more effective Ferrari Enzo Ferrari. Currently, it's no longer very outstanding in Class S and the entire game.
The 9FF GT9 VMAX can be considered the McLaren 675LT of Class S in terms of performance. All of its stats are as the same as the McLaren, the 9FF has mediocre acceleration (slower than its main rivals), sharp drifting & good handling, very good top speed (the same as the 675LT at MAX/PRO) and excellent nitro durations of 5/10/15.
Usage
Seeing as to how there are now better alternatives like the TRION NEMESIS, McLaren 675LT, etc., the 9FF GT9 VMAX has become almost completely useless, especially in Events, due to the lack of events that involve the VMAX as the dominant vehicle. In many events that involve mid-high-end Class S vehicles like the VMAX, most players use either the Lamborghini Egoista or Ferrari Enzo Ferrari instead.
Availability
- Main article: Asphalt 8: Airborne/Licensing Issues
In order to accommodate for the new Porsche vehicles added in the Porsche Update, the VMAX was completely removed from the game for people who did not already own it.
Price
The 9FF GT9 VMAX used to cost 12,000. MAX+PROing the car requires 3,047,050, making it the first car that costs more than 3,000,000 in terms of total upgrades. As of the Porsche Update, the 9FF GT9 VMAX is no longer available for purchase. Prior to the aforementioned update, the VMAX and all other Porsche-derived cars were given away for free via giveaway cups.
Asphalt Nitro
The 9FF GT9 VMAX, erroneously renamed to 9FF GT9-R, appears as a Class S car, added in the fourth update and officially made playable in the fifth update.
The 9FF GT9-R, a Class S car, behaves exactly the same as its Asphalt 8: Airborne rendition, but is now the fastest car in the game.
The 9FF GT9-R costs 2,000 to purchase. Under certain circumstances, however, such as playing the game when offline, the 9FF GT9-R might appear unavailable for purchase.
