The Ferrari F40 is a mid-engined supercar that appears in the Asphalt series. The Ferrari F40 is the third oldest Ferrari car in Asphalt 8.
Overview
The Ferrari F40 is the successor to the Ferrari 288 GTO, which was the first road vehicle to break the 186 mph (300 km/h) limit. In turn, the Ferrari F40 was the first road vehicle to break the 200 mph (322 km/h) limit, holding a road vehicle speed record for 5 years until 1992, when the McLaren F1 was released in 1992 with a speed of 240 mph (386 km/h). It was also the last vehicle to be personally approved by founder Enzo Ferrari before his death.
The Ferrari F40 uses a 2.9 L twin-turbocharged Tipo F120A V8, producing 478 PS (352 kW; 471 bhp) at 7,000 rpm. It is the last vehicle of Ferrari's limited production supercar series to use a V8 engine. Later models (Ferrari F50 [1995-2001], Ferrari Enzo [2002-2004], and Ferrari LaFerrari [2013-Present]) use naturally aspirated V12 engines, each increasing in engine displacement: the F50 used a 4.7 L DOHC 65° V12 producing 520 PS (513 bhp) at 8,000 rpm; the Enzo used a 6.0 L F140B 65° V12 producing 660 PS (651 bhp) at 7,800 rpm; and the LaFerrari uses a 6.3 L F140 FE 65° V12 producing 800 PS (789 bhp) at 9,000 rpm alongside a 163 PS (161 bhp) KERS unit for a total of 963 PS (950 bhp).

The Ferrari F40 is a Tier 5 car, and requires 375 stars to unlock. It costs 987,000 Cash.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Near the end of the Winter update, the Ferrari F40, along with many other vehicles, ended up in the Asphalt 8 data files. It was later added in the March 2015 Decals Update.
The Ferrari F40 is a mid-high end Class B car, with a starting rank of 1369 (same as the Kepler Motion from Class B), a maximum rank of 1503 (just below the Ford Shelby GT500's 1504), and a final rank of 1593 (shared with the Chevrolet Corvette C7).
Ferrari F40 Season 9 Dubai Reverse
Despite having similar starting stats to the Ferrari F50, both cars' performances differ significantly. The Ferrari F40 has strong acceleration despite its rather weak launch, aided further by a powerful Nitro; that is compensated by a very low pure top speed when tuned. The F40's handling is among the best in the game - it is very responsive, albeit not as much as the likes of the Mercedes-Benz Biome's, but unlike the aforementioned car, it never suffers from the skid glitch, making the Ferrari F40 a very easy car to use, suited for tracks with short straights in particular.
To gauge the Ferrari F40's viability, one cannot but compare it to the Mercedes-Benz Biome and the Audi R8 LMS Ultra, both in Events and in Multiplayer. The F40 has weaker acceleration than both, but its Nitro Efficiency is in-between the Biome's and the LMS Ultra's, not requiring an Extra Tank to keep up unlike the latter. Its handling is better than the LMS Ultra's and technically worse than the Biome's, though the F40's near-immunity to the skid glitch counteracts such a disadvantage. The Biome is also the only car between the three that is not hampered greatly by an empty nitro tank.
In the end, while the Ferrari F40 is not likely to defeat an equally-skilled driver on a Biome, it is a very good alternative for those wanting to use something else.
The Ferrari F40 costs 
575,000 to purchase while it costs 1,156,850 to max out. It was also given out as a Daily Bonus login reward in December 2016, requiring 30 days of consecutive logins. If a player already has the Ferrari F40, then they will be given 250,000.
The Ferrari F40 qualifies for the following events:
- Race 27 of Season 5 — an Elimination event set in The Great Wall. Only Ferrari vehicles are allowed to participate.
- Race 12 of Season 7 — a Classic event set in the Alps. Only Ferrari vehicles are allowed to participate.
- Race 93 of Season 9 — a single-lap Classic event set in Dubai Reverse. This event requires a maxed out Ferrari F40 in order to participate.
Availability
Prior to the Lunar New Year 2017 Update, the Ferrari F40 had always been made available for purchase after its pre-release cups were held during the March 2015 Decals Update. It was changed into a time-limited car, available only for purchase between February 26, 2017 to March 4, 2017.
