The McLaren 675LT (with "LT" standing for Long Tail) is a lightweight, track-focused, limited-production version of the McLaren 650S supercar made by McLaren Automotive.

Description

The McLaren 675LT, introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, is a track-focused, lightweight version of the 650S. Its name comes from "675", the car's power output (in metric horsepower), and "LT", a reference to the "Long Tail" 1997 McLaren F1 GT which was the final incarnation of the F1 road car built to comply with FIA homologation regulations for the 1997 F1 GTR. The F1 GT featured extended front and rear overhangs that produced similar downforce to the previous homologation special, the F1 LM, without the use of a drag-inducing fixed rear wing.

The 675LT uses a single-piece carbon fiber monocell weighing 165 lb (75 kg), with extensive carbon fiber usage in the car to further reduce weight and increase rigidity. The 675LT is supplied with new carbon ceramic brake discs to increase braking performance over the 650S. Disc sizes are 394 mm (15.5 in) at the front and 380 mm (15.0 in) at the rear. Six-piston calipers grip the front discs with four-piston calipers used for the rear discs. Braking performance is also aided by the air brake ability of the new, wider rear wing.

The 675LT uses a new 10-spoke wheel design, each weighing 800 g (28.2 oz) less than the alloy wheels found on the McLaren P1™, with the front wheels being 19 inches and rear wheels being 20 inches. The new wheels are enclosed in Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R track-focused, road legal tires which increase grip by a maximum of 6% over the 650S's P-Zero Corsa.

The 675LT uses a 3.8L (3,799 cc) twin-turbocharged M838TE V8 engine, producing 666 hp (497 kW) at 7,100 rpm and 516 ft·lb (700 N·m) at 5,500 rpm, all achieved through the addition of new lightweight connecting rods, bespoke camshaft, an electronic recirculation valve, and a lightweight titanium exhaust system, alongside revised turbocharger compressor wheels and an optimized fuel pump. The 675LT uses the 650S's seven-speed McLaren SSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with reduced shift times thanks to improved software.

The 675LT can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) in 7.9 seconds, 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) in 25.9 seconds, and 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) in 31.2 seconds, continuing on to a top speed of at least 205 mph (330 km/h).

In 2016, a spider version named the McLaren 675LT Spider, was unveiled.

Summary

A8A McLaren 675LT MAX+PRO

The McLaren 675LT was added to the game in the Car Mastery Update. It is the only Class A car of that update and, alongside the McLaren P1™ GTR, is the first McLaren car added to the game since the McLaren P1 back in v1.3.0 over a year ago. It was also the first car released in the update, excluding the Car Mastery reward cars Camaro Z/28, Datsun 280Z, and Shelby Cobra 427. Since its inception, the McLaren 675LT has become one of the most popular Class A cars, joining the ranks of fellow older cars like the McLaren P1 and Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.

The McLaren 675LT is a top-end Class A car with the following rank statistics:

The McLaren 675LT's main rivals are the Ferrari 330 P4, 9FF GT9 VMAX, Bentley EXP10 Speed 6, Aston Martin One-77, Rimac Concept S, GT by CITROEN, and Mosler GT3.

Performance

Owing to having the same engine platform as the McLaren 12C Spider and P1, the McLaren 675LT shows traits in common: long-lasting nitro, with the efficiency rated as 5/10/15; same nitro power, starting at 17.7 mph (28.6 km/h); similar handling to the 12C Spider; and acceleration equivalent to the P1. It is worth noting that at Perfect Nitro/Level 3 nitro, the 675LT has slower acceleration than most top-end Class A cars and, interestingly enough, cars in lower classes like the Mazda RX-8, Honda S2000, and Lamborghini Miura; the 675LT reaches its top speed from a standstill with Level 3 nitro in 3.8 seconds (with MAX+PRO+Tuning Kit).

The 675LT's main advantage is that it has among a very high total speed for its rank, with 300.8 mph (484.4 km/h) at MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit. Overall, the 675LT is made into a car that, while competitive on any track, works best in tracks with long straights and/or non-complex corners (e.g. French Guiana, Alps, Tokyo). The 675LT does have more chances of outrunning a Mosler GT3 in a two-lap race, though.

Usage

It is of particular interest that its performance is very similar to the 9FF GT9 VMAX (when taking its speed multiplier of 88.60% into account), making the 675LT a much cheaper, Class A, available-for-Credits counterpart. Given said car's proficiency in tracks with long straights in both time-limited events and multiplayer, the 675LT is another competitive choice for it. Thanks to its low starting and MAX ranks, the 675LT can even challenge multiplayer favorites like the Range Rover Evoque Coupe HSE Dynamic, Shelby Cobra 427, and TVR Sagaris, although this ultimately falls on the hands of the driver. At ranks above 1700, the 675LT's competitiveness greatly decreases due to the presence of cars like the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25, Aston Martin Vulcan, and Apollo Intensa Emozione.

Below is a list of useful upgrade configurations for MP:

  • 2400 2040 = 265.1 mph/426.8 km/h @ A1521
  • 0300 5050 = 266.6 mph/429.3 km/h @ A1526
  • 2500 5050 = 284.0 mph/457.3 km/h @ A1599
  • 0504 5051 = 292.4 mph/470.8 km/h @ A1669

The McLaren 675LT is currently the best budget alternative to faster and/or more expensive Class A cars like the Mosler GT3, Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS (a tokens car that costs Tokens 6,250), BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage (an R&D car), and even the Jaguar XJ220S (an Elite Car). Even with the introduction of the Weber Faster One, the McLaren 675LT is still also the best easy choice for farming Credits in Mastery, as it uses Dubai Reverse as its final track with the Unplugged race mode, as opposed to the Weber Faster One's The Mirage in Flawless race mode. However, the McLaren MP4-31 has replaced the 675LT as the best choice for farming Credits due to earning more Credits, despite having a Flawless race in Dubai; this race is an advanced option, as it is usually only for players with enough Custom Racing Engine cards. In addition, the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition is also more efficient for farming, although like the MP4-31, it has a drawback of restrictive availability.

As of the Car Blueprints Update, the 675LT is no longer able to reach the top 500 in most events due to the increasing presence of the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition, especially with the latter's increased rate of acceleration.

Price

The McLaren 675LT costs Tokens 4,850 to buy, Credits 2,147,200 to MAX, and Credits 1,400,000 for Pro Kits, along with 12 of each Class A Parts card, 16 V8 Engines, 2 Initial Tech cards, 2 Early Tech cards, 16 Mid-Tech cards, and 12 Advanced Tech cards.

The 675LT was part of the 22nd Multiplayer Season, Earth Season 2 as a Champion and Elite League reward. Players who already had the 675LT would win Credits 100,000 instead.
