The McLaren P1™ is McLaren Automotive's first hybrid supercar, the third model in the Ultimate Series, and the successor to the McLaren F1.
Overview
The McLaren P1 is the long-awaited successor to the McLaren F1 supercar. Unveiled as a concept car in 2012, the McLaren P1's production form, which unusually looks almost exactly the same as the concept form, was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The production version sports LTR ducts in front of each of the front wheels to optimize downforce. Unlike most other McLaren cars, the P1's name is officially stylized as McLaren P1™, with a trademark symbol.
The P1 uses a 3.8L (3,799 cc) twin-turbocharged V8 engine called M838TQ. The twin turbos boost the petrol engine at 1.4 bar (20.3 psi) to deliver 727 hp (542 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 531 ft·lb (720 N·m) at 4,000 rpm. The first hybrid hypercar, the P1 contains an in-house-developed McLaren ECU electric motor producing 176 hp (131 kW) and 192 ft·lb (260 N·m), which gives the car a total output of 903 hp (673 kW) and 723 ft·lb (980 N·m). The electric motor is manually deployable or can be left in automatic mode, whereby the car's electronic control units "torque fill" the gaps in the V8's output, which is considered turbo lag, giving the powertrain an effective powerband of almost 7,000 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed McLaren SSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Power for the electric motor is stored in a 324-cell lithium-ion high-density battery pack located behind the passenger cabin, developed by Johnson Matthey Battery Systems. Charging the battery is possible through the engine or plug-in equipment and can finish in up to two hours. The P1 can operate under the petrol engine, electric motor, or hybrid mode (both petrol engine and electric motor activated at once).
The car has a dry weight of 3075 lb (1395 kg) and a curb weight of 3411 lb (1547 kg), putting the average weight as 3243 lb (1471 kg). The resulting power-to-weight ratio is a minimum of 584 hp per tonne (3.41 lb/1.54 kg per hp) and a maximum of 647 hp per tonne (3.78 lb/1.54 kg per hp).
The P1 uses Formula One-derived features like Instant Power Assist System (IPAS), which gives an instant acceleration boost via the electric motor, a Drag Reduction System (DRS), which operates the car's rear wing, and a KERS. Both IPAS and DRS have their dedicated switches on the steering wheel. The car generates 1323 lb (600 kg) of downforce at 160 mph (257 km/h) and has a drag coefficient of only 0.34.
The P1 accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.6 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 6.8 seconds, 186 mph (300 km/h) in 16.5 seconds, and 200 mph (322 km/h) in 23 seconds, making it a full 5.5 seconds faster than the McLaren F1. The P1 has an absolute delimited top speed of at least 245 mph (394 km/h). Tires are bespoke Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires and brakes are specially developed carbon ceramic brakes from Akebono.
In 2015, a track-tuned version, the McLaren P1™ GTR, was released. The following year, the McLaren P1™ GTR received a 5-unit, street-legal version, named the McLaren P1™ LM.

Summary
The McLaren P1™, renamed to simply McLaren P1, was added to the game as part of The Great Wall Update. Since then, it has become one of the most popular Class A cars, alongside original car Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and more recent cars like the McLaren 675LT.
The McLaren P1 is a mid-end Class A car, with a starting rank of 1470 (shared with the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4), a MAX rank of 1611, and a MAX+PRO rank of 1698. The car receives a Tuning Kit bonus of +33 rank points. At the time of its introduction, the P1 replaced the Ferrari LaFerrari as the best Class A car.
Performance
The McLaren P1's performance is based on that of the McLaren 12C Spider: a decently high rate of acceleration, high top speed, sharp and responsive handling, and very high nitro efficiency at 5/10/15.
The McLaren P1 boasts a decent rate of acceleration similar to that of the 12C Spider, although this is most apparent at MAX+PRO. The P1 has a very high top speed stat given its rank, topping out at 246.9 mph (397.5 km/h) at MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit. It is apparent that the stock version of the car has a top speed stat that does not closely match with real life, although the P1's aforementioned top speed stat at MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit closely matches its real life top speed. The P1 has a maximum total speed of 281.9 mph (454.0 km/h).
Weighing 3075 lb (1395 kg), the P1 has the ability to clear corners effectively thanks to having responsive handling and sharp drifting. Sometimes, the handling can become stiff, especially at MAX+PRO, although this can be rectified with practice and skill. As previously mentioned, the P1 has very high nitro efficiency, at 5/10/15, thus allowing the car to perform well even on a single tank of nitro.
One main disadvantage of this car is its unusual instability; sometimes, the car will either randomly skid out of control or wreck for no reason at all. This is even more apparent on Tokyo and Venice, although the McLaren P1™ GTR doesn't have these problems. Despite these downfalls, the McLaren P1 can actually achieve faster lap times than the Ferrari LaFerrari, which only has the edge in acceleration and handling. Even then, the Falcon F7 and McLaren MP4/8 have better performance at lower ranks, especially with the latter's extreme acceleration and handling.
Usage
The McLaren P1 is generally considered one of the best go-to cars in Class A due to having a high performance-to-price ratio. The P1 has multiple strengths, including having a Credits-farming-suitable track in Season 9: Beyond where the player can make 4,900 in less than 58 seconds of racing (without a VIP Bonus multiplier) and another in Mastery where the player can make 6,000 in about a minute (without a VIP Bonus multiplier), low price compared to similarly-ranked Class A cars, and dominating several Class A Events. This is the go-to car until the player can get higher-ranked cars like the McLaren 675LT and/or McLaren Mercedes MP4-25.
In Multiplayer, while the P1 has excellent all-round performance, it is actually very risky to use the car at MAX+PRO, as more often than not, especially as of the Multiplayer League Update, there is a high chance of being pitted against cars ranked at least 100 rank points higher or lower. In terms of Multiplayer-friendly upgrade configurations, the Ferrari LaFerrari has the advantage (even if slight), although it is not recommended due to the Lotus Evora Sport 410, Aston Martin Vulcan, and Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport being capable of having a much higher total speed at a similar or lower rank.
The P1 also contributes to the "Glimpse Into the Future", "Extra Horses", "Britain's Finest" and "McLaren" car collections.
Price
When first introduced, the McLaren P1 was priced at 420,000 for purchase. As of the Fuel Events Update, with the addition of the Ferrari FF, the P1 now costs 475,000. Maxing it out costs 364,400, and Pro Kits require 214,641, 7 of each Class A Parts card, 8 Hybrid Engines, 2 Initial Tech cards, 2 Early Tech cards, 12 Mid-Tech cards, and 4 Advanced Tech cards.
Asphalt Nitro
The McLaren P1, now correctly renamed to McLaren P1™ (with the trademark symbol), appears in Asphalt Nitro as one of the cars from the get-go.
Since the final release of the game, the McLaren P1™ performs identically to its Asphalt 8: Airborne rendition, except this time, it is a Class S car.
Asphalt Street Storm Racing
The McLaren P1™ appears as a Class S car.
