Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is the second car in Class C and is one of the 10 original cars in Class C.
The Electric Drive has a low starting rank of 909, a MAX rank of 1163 and a MAX + PRO rank of 1212 (shared with the MAX rank of Chevrolet Camaro GS), qualifying it for a low-rank C Class car. The Electric Drive possesses a decently large Tuning Kit bonus of +59 rank points.
Performance
The Electric Drive has a mediocre "triple-tap" launch speed of around 4 seconds (+Nitro Starter -Tuning Kit). The Electric Drive's total top speed is higher than that of the Audi RS 3 Sportback but is otherwise not very high compared to its other competition. The Electric Drive's raw top speed is slightly lower than that of the Audi TTS Coupé, making it the lowest in all of Class C with no Tuning Kit. However, with a Tuning Kit, the Audi TTS Coupé instead has the lowest raw top speed in all of Class C.
With a mediocre nitro efficiency of 7/12/17, average handling and a wide drifting radius, the Electric Drive is widely considered one of the worst Class C cars for its rank.
The Electric Drive does, however, stand as one of the best Electric Cars for its price, making it a good choice for Electric Events. However, if such events happen, it will likely be dominated by the Silver Lightning, an S Class car that is much better and still cheap from the point of view of experienced players.
Usage
In terms of usage, the Electric Drive mainly competes with the Audi RS 3 Sportback and Chevrolet Camaro GS. The former is cheaper but worse performing overall, while the latter is overall better performing but slightly more expensive. All three cars are decent starter's cars for Class C.
The Electric Drive is featured in the Career Mode.
The Electric Drive is not very good for Multiplayer or Time-Limited Events.
The Electric Drive has a Free Class C Upgrade at Mastery challenge 10. The Electric Drive is featured in three collections: Ion Runners, GT Club and Glimpse into the Future.
The Electric Drive is an easy source of because it is cheap to buy and upgrade. However, the total number of licenses it rewards is not high.
Price
As of the Motorcycles Update, the Electric Drive costs 26,000 to purchase (originally 6,000, then 9,000), 267,250 to MAX and 20,925 to PRO. The Electric Drive doesn't use any rare/legendary cards or Engine cards in its PRO upgrades.
