The Nissan GT-R (R35) is a front-engined, 2+2 supercar produced by Nissan since 2008. While no longer part of the Skyline range, it is the successor to the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) and the Skyline name has been given over to the V35.

Overview Edit

Between 1969 and 1974, and again between 1989 and 2002, Nissan produced a high performance version of its Skyline coupe called the Nissan Skyline GT-R. This car proved to be iconic for Nissan and achieved much fame and success on both road and track. The Nissan GT-R, now a standalone model no longer based on the Skyline, has its roots in the Skyline GT-R.

Similar to the later generations of the Skyline GT-R, the GT-R is all-wheel drive with a twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine and has the signature four round tail lights. However, the GT-R is an entirely new model sharing little with its Skyline siblings and is a complete redesign from previous Skylines rather than an incremental evolution; the four-wheel-steering HICAS system has been removed and the GT-R now uses a twin-turbo 3.8L V6 engine called VR38DETT, which replaces the previous RB26DETT 2.6L inline-6 engine. Due to the GT-R's heritage, the chassis code for the all-new version is known as CBA-R35, or R35 for short (where CBA is the prefix for emission standard), carrying on the naming trend from previous Skyline GT-R generations. The GT-R has also retained its Skyline predecessor's nickname Godzilla, given to it by the Australian motoring publication Wheels in its July 1989 edition.

The Nissan GT-R is powered by the VR38DETT 3.8L (3,799 cc) twin-turbo DOHC V6 engine. Models produced up to 2010 produce a manufacturer-claimed power output of 478 hp (356 kW) at 6,400 rpm and torque output of 434 ft·lb (588 N·m) at 3,200 — 5,200 rpm. In 2010, these figures were updated to 523 hp (390 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 451 ft·lb (611 N·m) at 3,200 — 6,000 rpm, respectively.

The Nissan GT-R (R35) is the first Tier 5 vehicle, available from the initial release of the game.

Asphalt 8: Airborne Edit

A8A Nissan GT-R (R35) stock

The Nissan GT-R (R35) is one of 10 original Class B cars, with a starting rank of 1296, a MAX rank of 1463, and a MAX+PRO rank of 1543. The car receives +39 from Tuning Kits.

The Nissan GT-R (R35) is very quick off-the-line for its rank bracket due to its high acceleration stat and well-balanced nitro. While its handling is hampered by its all-wheel-drive and weight, forcing it to drift more often than other cars, it is otherwise manageable and easy to predict, and so is it while drifting. The lost time when doing so can be compensated by its acceleration and Nitro.

Other than its handling, the GT-R's main disadvantage is its underwhelming top speed - even with Nitro at full power and when fully upgraded, can only reach 253 mph (407 km/h), making it an undesirable choice for multiplayer or Events. It is, on the other hand, a very good choice at early-mid single-player because of its low cost and much higher Nitro efficiency than its closest competition, the Ferrari 458 Italia and Mazda Furai.

Overall, the Nissan GT-R (R35) can be described as a cheaper, Class B version, non-Elite Car version of the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe due to the R35 having the same speed with an ATS-V that has its Elite Tuning set to the usual 0808 setup. The R35 has better acceleration than the ATS-V but the ATS-V, being lighter, handles better.

As of the Motorcycles Update, the Nissan GT-R (R35) costs A8Credits 67,000 (originally A8Credits 62,500, then A8Credits 69,000) to purchase and costs A8Credits 332,375 to max out. It can be earned by banking A8EnduroPoints 10,000 during the BXR Bailey Blade GT1's Enduro Double Down event, the details of which can be seen at this page. A8Credits 50,000 will be rewarded if the player already has the car upon banking said EP amount.

Asphalt Nitro Edit
